The context
The reality of modern test laboratories is defined by specific developments impacting the laboratory system, understood as an array of LIS systems and automations which casts both components apart, driving them along different evolution paths. Currently, LIS-typical functionalities and system automation functionalities are clearly diverse and instrument middleware systems aim to reconnect these two separate worlds.
The solution
HALIA is a Dedalus Group solution in instrument middleware; it completes laboratory computerisation and connects Laboratory Automation and LIS (Laboratory Information System).
HALIA enables the management of all pre-test, test, and post-test laboratory instruments centrally, facilitating overall control of processes and ensuring an all-encompassing solution to the connectivity demands of modern test laboratories.
HALIA provides a complete vision of overall laboratory automation, inclusive of all platforms within the enterprise, regardless of location. The web interface also allows management of individual instruments and monitoring of instrument status by means of a drill-down menu, aside from verifying Turn-around Time (TAT) and sample status.
HALIA is equipped with an expert system based on an inference find motor, which is dedicated to evaluating completely configurable rules. The rules engine supports the auto-verification, rerun, reflex, sample routing, load balancing and real time QCS automatic functionalities.
